Understanding Decimal Numbers

Decimals are numbers with a whole part and a fractional part separated by a decimal point.
When we compare decimals, we look at each digit from left to right, just like we do with whole numbers. The key is to line up the decimal points first!

  • Play decimal war: Turn a deck of cards into decimal numbers (Ace=1, 2=2, etc.) and play a comparison game where the larger decimal wins the round.
