First comes 1 group of 5, then comes 2 groups of 5… and soon we’ll have a whole parade of fives!

To multiply by 5:

1. Start with the number you want to multiply (like 3).
2. Add that many groups of 5 together. For example, 3 groups of 5 make 15.
3. Count by 5s until you reach your answer: 5, 10, 15!

Remember this trick: The answers always end in 0 or 5. Cool, right?

Let’s Try an Example!

If you have 4 x 5, it’s just like saying “I need 4 groups of 5.”

Here’s how we count: 5, 10, 15, 20!

So, 4 x 5 = 20. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Tips for Superhero Parents 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️

• Use real-life objects like candies or toys to show groups of 5.
• Sing songs about counting by 5s (“5, 10, 15, 20…”).
• Encourage kids to use their fingers—one hand has 5 fingers, so they can practice multiplying by 5 easily!
