3. Count Aloud: Use your fingers or tap each item as you count. “One… two… three…”
4. Say the Answer: Once everything is grouped, shout out the total number!

Say you find 4 balloons floating in the sky and later see 3 more balloons. How many balloons do you see in total?

We can solve this easily:

• Start with the first group: 4 balloons.
• Add the second group: + 3 balloons.
• Now count them all up: 4 + 3 = 7.
