What is Multiplication?
Multiplication is like super-fast adding!
When we multiply, we're combining equal groups to find out how many there are altogether. It's a special
math shortcut that helps us count things quickly!
How Multiplication Works
1️⃣ Count how many groups you have
2️⃣ Count how many items are in each group
3️⃣ Multiply to find the total!
Let's Practice Together!
Example 1: Apple Groups
There are 3 baskets. Each basket has 4 apples. How many apples are there altogether?
This is the same as: 3 × 4 = ?
3 × 4 = 12! There are 12 apples altogether!
Example 2: Pet Store
A pet store has 5 fish tanks. Each tank has 6 fish. How many fish are there in total?
Can you solve: 5 × 6 = ?
5 × 6 = 30! There are 30 fish in the pet store!
