Even and Odd Numbers

Discover the exciting world of numbers that pair up and numbers that stand alone!

What Are Even and Odd Numbers?

Numbers can be divided into two special groups: even and odd!
Even numbers are numbers that can be divided into two equal groups without leftovers. Odd numbers always have one extra when you try to split them equally. Think of even numbers as best friends who always come in pairs, and odd numbers as the one who's left without a partner!

How to Tell if a Number is Even or Odd

1️⃣ Look at the last digit of the number

2️⃣ If it's 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 → Even number!

3️⃣ If it's 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9 → Odd number!

  • Counting Steps: When walking together, count steps and identify if they're on an even or odd number - great for active learning!
  • Snack Time Math: Use small snacks (like grapes or crackers) to create groups - can they be divided equally between two people?
