Mode and Range

Discover how to find the most common number and the difference between big and small numbers!

What Are Mode and Range?

Mode is the number that appears most often in a set of numbers.
It's like finding which ice cream flavor is the most popular among your friends!

Range is the difference between the biggest and smallest numbers.
It tells us how spread out the numbers are, like measuring how far apart the tallest and shortest kids in your class are!

How to Find Mode and Range

1️⃣ For Mode: Count how many times each number appears. The one with the most is the mode!

2️⃣ For Range: Find the biggest and smallest numbers, then subtract them!

3️⃣ Practice: Try with your favorite numbers - like how many pets your friends have!

Parent Tips 🌟

  • Make it real: Use everyday items like toys or snacks to practice finding mode and range together.
  • Turn it into a game: Have your child survey family members about something (like favorite fruits) and find the mode.
  • Use visual aids: Line up objects by size to help understand range - the distance between smallest and biggest.
