What Are Data and Graphs?
Data is just information we collect about things!
We can count how many pets we have, what colors we like best, or how many sunny days there are. Graphs help us see this information in pictures that are easy to understand.
Types of Graphs We'll Learn
1️⃣ Pictographs - Use pictures to show numbers
2️⃣ Bar Graphs - Use colored bars of different heights
3️⃣ Tally Charts - Use marks to count things
Let's Try Some Examples!
Example 1: Favorite Fruits

Parent Tips 🌟
- Make it real: Collect data about things in your home (favorite snacks, toy colors) and help your child make simple graphs.
- Graph everyday items: Have your child sort and count socks by color, then make a pictograph using actual socks.
- Read graphs together: Look for simple graphs in children's books or magazines and talk about what they show.
