What Are Even and Odd Numbers?
Numbers can be divided into two special groups!
Even numbers are numbers that can be divided into pairs with no leftovers. Odd numbers always have one
left over when you try to pair them up. Think of them like pairs of shoes - even numbers make complete
pairs, while odd numbers leave one shoe without a partner!
How to Tell if a Number is Even or Odd
1️⃣ Look at the last digit of the number
2️⃣ If it's 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 - it's EVEN!
3️⃣ If it's 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9 - it's ODD!

Parent Tips 🌟
- Household Hunt: Look for even and odd numbers around your home - house numbers, clocks, or pages in books make great examples!
- Counting Games: Take turns counting by 2s (2, 4, 6...) to emphasize even numbers, then try starting from 1 for odds.
- Snack Time Math: Use small snacks like grapes or crackers to physically pair up items and see if you have an even or odd amount.
